2010 Rules Overview

The following is an overview of some of the rules for the ABA Couples Series...

1. All teams must be current members of the ABA. Memberships can be purchased the day of the tournament at registration or online.

2. You must fish with the same team member for all of the tournaments you fish in a season to receive points for that team. You may fish with a different person at another event, but you will receive points as a new team.

3. You must be a minimum of (16) years of age to participate.

4. All teams must fish from a USCG appoved boat equipped with a safety stop switch and aerated livewells.

5. All teams are required to attend a pre-tournament safety and rules briefing before each tournament. The safety meeting will be held at the launch ramp at approxiamatly (20) minutes prior to blast-off the morning of the tournament.

6. Points are awarded on a (200) point scale. The first place team will be awarded (200) points. The reamaining teams will be awarded in (1) point decreasing increments depending on place of finish.

7. All teams are expected to follow a high level of sportsmanship, courtesy, conservation, and safety.

8. The top (200) teams nationally will receive invitations to the national championship at the season end. If any teams decline the invitation, remaining slots will be filled from a waiting list based on points. In addition, (2) wild card teams will be drawn from each division. To be eligible for the wild card, teams must have participated in (5) tournaments from their division.

9. You can pre-register online prior to cut-off, or sign up at the ramp on the day of the tournament. Registration will close as soon as the pre-tournament safety briefing starts.

10. Blast-off order will be determined by order of entry. All teams will be assigned a boat number at registration.

11. An optional Men's and Lady's Big Fish Pot will be available for $5.00 each.

12. A (5) fish limit per boat can be weighed. At no time shall a team have more than (5) fish in their livewell. You must cull after your fifth fish.
